Cleaning and upkeep.
June 6th, 2008To care for your aluminum patio furniture, there are a few steps to take.
Cleaning:
For the straps, use a regular dish soap and water to wash them, and then rinse with water. Make sure to wash both sides of the straps.
For the aluminum legs and arms, use a light, non-compounded car wax, such as “Turtle Wax”. Only use wax on the legs and arms of the chair, avoiding getting wax on the straps. For the rest of the visible aluminum use water and soap.
Prevention:
To prevent premature wear on your aluminum patio furniture cover when not in use to protect from environmental pollutants such as vehicle exhaust, salt spray, or plant pollen. Never throw aluminum patio furniture in the pool! Prolonged exposure to chlorine will severely damage the finish of the frame and vinyl and will cause corrosion on the inside of the aluminum tubing.
